How Young Is Too Young for an iPhone?
How young is too young for an iPhone? It has become commonplace among larger and larger demographics to give their youngest members an iPhone. Some families may present children as young as two years old with an iPhone.
The reasons for doing so vary. For some, it is an electronic pacifier for toddler tantrums; for others, it assuages their anxieties about being unable to reach their child, despite the fact that said child may be unable to properly spell, text, or use the call button of a phone.
Newer generations that grow up with technology learn alongside their advancements. They are intuitive, smart, and tech savvy. However, at the end of the day, a child’s still a child.
Emotional regulation skills may be stunted by overreliance on technology. More and more kids have shorter attention spans, intense emotional dysregulation, and lack critical thinking skills to solve complex problems.
